Vineyards: This wonderful old Italian varietal, when grown in the right place, produces one of the most food-friendly wines with its bright acidity and wonderful flavor. It is grown on the home ranch of Ramazzotti Vineyards in Dry Creek valley.
Winemaking: The 2013 vintage is one of the best crops in the last 10 years both in yield and flavor. We harvested 2 ton and produced 130 cases. The Barbera was aged 14 months in new American oak and French oak barrels.
Wine Tasting Notes: This beautiful garnet-colored wine has hints of black cherry and strawberry aromas coming in through the nose. A wonderful acidity in the middle mellows into a soft, luxurious finish. The Barbera will pair nicely with braised ribs, rabbit, chicken, mushrooms and most meat dishes. It will continue to soften with aging, and may be cellared for 10 years.
Vineyards: Our Sangiovese vineyard was planted in 1985 on a steep hillside on the Ramazzotti Home Ranch. Located above the fog line in the Dry Creek Valley, the vines face west and receive sun all day long. The soil is rocky and well drained, naturally resulting in a light crop of rich, concentrated fruit.
Winemaking: 100% Estate grown Sangiovese, these grapes are carefully hand-selected, crushed and de-stemmed, then placed into stainless steel tanks where the juice is chilled and inoculated with Syrah yeast to consume more sugar. Our use of this yeast brings out a truer flavor from the Sangiovese grapes. The wine is aged in 10% new Appalachian and 90% used French and American barrels for only 10 months to preserve the character of the delightful Sangiovese fruit. For this wine we 14.8% alcohol, .5% residual sugar, only 350 cases produced.
Wine Tasting Notes: This wine has a fresh nose and offers lilac and cherries up front, giving way to mouthwatering fruit, a subtle spiciness, and vanilla tones on the finish. Its firm acidity and bright flavors make it a perfect match to lighter marinara, pasta primavera or a beautiful sausage dish.
2012 Raffinto (Super Tuscan Blend)
Vineyards: The vineyard was planted in 1987 on a steep hillside in the Dry Creek bench land and Alexander Valley floor. The Sangiovese grape is planted on a steep hillside on our home ranch on Walling road, Geyserville in the Dry Creek Valley. Very rocky, poor quality soil but well drained; this is what Sangiovese needs to not over crop and to produce great quality grapes. The Cabernet Sauvignon, Cab Franc, Merlot and Syrah come from the Alexander Valley floor on the Pigoni Ranch.
Winemaking: Blend of 60% Sangiovese, 16% Cabernet, 12% Merlot, 7% Syrah and 5% Cabernet Franc. This blend was aged in French and American Oak for a period of 24 months. Brix 25.8, P.H. 3.44, T.A. 0.70 and 14.5% Alcohol.
Wine Tasting Notes: This wine shows complex, rich juicy fruit - wild berry and red cherry, bittersweet chocolate and velvety tannins, it's a "Party on the palate"! Pair with braised meats, Osso buco, Veal parmesan, rich sausage dishes and pizzas.
2013 Cabernet Franc
Vineyards: Estate grown on the Pigoni Ranch in Alexander Valley
Winemaking: The wine was aged for 48 months in 10% new and 90% aged oak barrels, which were 50% French and 50% American. 14.5% alcohol, 0% residual sugar, only 100 cases produced.

2013 DenBeste Zinfandel

Winemaking: 18 months in used French and American oak. 100% Zinfandel with .3% residual sugar.

2012 McClone Zinfandel
Vineyards: These zinfandel grapes are from the McClone family vineyard in Placerville, El Dorado County. This vineyard is organically grown and farmed.
2013 Ricordo (Zinfandel Blend)
Vineyards: The five varietals used are harvested from the Ramazzotti home ranch and Garrett & Michelle Blake Vineyard in Dry Creek.
Wine Tasting Notes: This lively, spicy blend from Dry Creek is reminiscent of the hearty, "old-fashioned" Italian-style red table wine, with hints of chocolate, anise, blueberries, plums and spice. Pair with pastas, BBQ beef ribs, hearty red meat dishes, hamburgers and gumbo.
2013 Regale (Cabernet Blend)
Vineyards: Bordeaux-style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The Merlot is grown and harvested on the Frei Vineyard, the Syrah, Cabernet and Cab Franc from the Pigoni Vineyard, all located in the Alexander Valley.
Winemaking: For this vintage, the blend is 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 18% Syrah and 12% Cabernet Franc. The Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes were co-fermented, and after careful tasting trials, the Syrah and Cabernet Franc were added at a later date. The wine was aged in oak barrels for 24 months, half American (10% new) and half French. 14.5% alcohol, .3% residual sugar.
Wine Tasting Notes: This wine is blended for complexity and smoothness. Rich tones from the Syrah integrate with the Merlot, which carries across mid-palate with a hint of black cherry and pepper. The Cabernet Sauvignon brings up the rear with dominant violet tones, a hint of tobacco and smooth supple tannins. Pair with all your classic beef dishes, game, lamb roasts and enjoy with cheeses like Camembert, Brie and Roquefort.
2012 Rapport (Port)
Winemaking: This spectacular red dessert wine is made in the style of the great Ports of Portugal. It is made from 100% Zinfandel grapes and fortified with Everclear (yes, that's right). Light bodied, hints of Fig Newtons, hay and spice, this dessert wine pleases even the most discernible palate. 7% residual sugar.
Wine Tasting Notes: This is not your traditional port. While enjoying this lovely cordial, you will come to find that the Rapport is a light bodied, Zinfandel forward port. Aromas of rich blueberries and boysenberries with a hint of milk chocolate, and on the palate, black cherries with figs, cinnamon spice, hazelnut, and a sweet caramel finish. It sounds like a sweet treat delight, but this dessert wine is surprisingly balanced and incredibly easy to enjoy. Pairs well with chocolate mousse, flourless chocolate torte, dark chocolate, and even vanilla bean ice cream.
